Who you would be working with
An independent coach, not a programme
I am Jonathan Whitham. I work with individuals, teams and organisations who want to understand themselves better and lead with more intention.
My background is in leadership and people development, and I have spent years in rooms where the real conversation was not happening. That is where I am most useful: helping the honest thing get said, kindly, and then helping people act on it.
Working independently matters to me. There is no course to fill, no fixed curriculum and no outcome I need you to reach. The work is shaped around what is actually in front of us, and it stops when it is done.
I hold sessions online and in person, and I work with private clients, businesses, charities and public sector teams across the UK.
Four things you can count on
- Confidential by default
- What is said in a session stays there. Where an organisation is paying, we agree in advance exactly what is reported back — usually themes, never detail.
- Practical over theoretical
- Models are useful only as far as they help. Every session ends with something you can try before we next speak.
- Kind, but honest
- You will be challenged. Gently, and with care, but you should not leave a session having only heard what you already believed.
- Designed to end
- Good coaching makes itself unnecessary. We agree a scope at the start and review whether it is still needed as we go.
Who I usually work with
- Newly promoted managers finding their feet
- Experienced leaders carrying more than they say
- Teams that have grown quickly and lost their rhythm
- Founders and owners with no one impartial to think with
- Organisations navigating restructure or change
- Colleagues whose working relationship has stalled
